Tell us your phone model, the app version (Settings → About) and what happened. Please don’t send copies of your green card or other personal documents.

Restore purchases

  • Open StepCivics and tap Restore purchases on the Premium screen or in Settings.
  • Use the same Apple Account or Google account that bought Premium. A StepCivics sign-in isn’t needed.
  • Premium doesn’t move between iPhone and Android. For a refund, ask Apple or Google Play.

Delete your account

If you signed in, Settings → Delete account removes your backup and your account right away. You can also ask us by email.

Common questions

Quick answers.

My state’s answers look out of date.

Open StepCivics with an internet connection: it checks for new names every week, and within a day after a change. Each answer shows the date it was verified. Compare it with USCIS’s list, and email us if something’s wrong. Check for Test Updates on uscis.gov

How do I change my state or ZIP code?

Go to Settings and change your state and ZIP code. The answers for your state update right away, even offline.

How do I move my progress to a new phone?

Sign in with Apple or Google on your old phone, study once so StepCivics backs up, then sign in with the same account on the new phone. Your ZIP code and interview date stay on the old phone, so add them again.

Do I need an account?

No. You can study, buy Premium and use every tool without one. Sign in only if you want a backup.

How do I change the language?

StepCivics follows your phone’s language. To pick another of its seven languages, go to Settings → Language.

Can you help with my application?

We can help with the app, but not with your case. StepCivics isn’t part of USCIS and doesn’t provide legal advice. For your application, contact USCIS or a licensed immigration attorney. Form N-400 on uscis.gov
